I always wonder if there are any people left who would do the hand work needed in the woods.  Much of it will be done by equipment, so maybe that isn't a problem.

thanks for posting this Treeswarper.   I had never heard of cross laminated timber.  It seems like such a great logical use for an otherwise unused resource.  I too, hope it gets off the ground.  ( literally....) cool.gif

I sure hope they can make a go of it. North of the border, CLT is very much a thing. A couple of years back, UBC built a new student residence which at 18 storeys, was the tallest wood building in the world. Additionally, if you ever happen to be up there, drop in and look at the Richmond Olympic oval - the roof is made of CLT beams and pine beetle kill wood. It is one of the most gorgeous ceilings I’ve ever seen.
