^ Aw, that was really sweet.
Dave - Patti Smith's "Twelve" has a number of excellent tracks including (but not limited to) Helpless, Gimme Shelter, and Smells Like Teen Spirit.

If you are into jazz guitar, check out Al Dimeolas fine Beatles covers on "In My Life."

From "Innocence and Despair: the Langley Schools Music Project":
Other great moments from the Langley Schools album: Rhiannon, Good Vibrations, Space Oddity, and a rendition of 'Desperado' (sung by a 9-year-old girl) that I cannot listen to without several boxes of kleenex.

I was just thinking about Julie Taymor's movie musical Across the Universe. If you haven't seen it, it stitches together about 30 Beatles songs into a long story about war and love. Visually it's stunning, and written with humor and heart. All of the leads sing beautifully, as well as cameo performances for a few of the songs:
Come Together - Joe Cocker with Martin Luther McCoy
Happiness Is a Warm Gun - Joe Anderson with Salma Hayak
I Am the Walrus - Bono
