Wow, so cool. Thank you for posting these. I had always assumed cougars were more solitary creatures. Is it odd to capture a group of three like this? Or is that a mom with two youngins?

That was my reaction - I was surprised to see 3 good sized animals together like that because I had always heard they were loners. But I can't tell if these are mature cats or if some or all are young. They look pretty big to me.

It would be such a thrill to see three at once!

I'm pretty sure the leading cat is mother being followed by her 2 juvenile offspring. They'll stay with mom for up to 2 years

Can you guess from their reaction that this is the moment that I crest the ridge as I'm coming to retrieve this camera. So alert & on guard. I watched this group through the binoculars for about an hour and from about 150 yards away. I quietly retreated and fetched the camera a couple of days later

Now, with all of your truly fantastic videos over the many months I find this to be one of the best. Animals are so interesting! I often think in severe weather when I am in my high tech gear, and marginal, the animals are just 'out there,' naked except for fur coats and great genes. Not to mention as in this video they often are far more attuned to their environment than we are.

Great new additions, BPG! Three cougars at once - that has to be a rare sight. up.gif

This cat displaces a rock and then rolls in something. A few days later a coyote sniffs at something at the same area and then picks it up and trots off with it. Looked like maybe a rodent or reptile

these videos are better than the local cinema. Never saw three cats before but I wager they are mom and jueniles as stated. Rolling in scent of something dead the cat is probably trying to cover its own scent. Those elk are fantastic, I have encountered similar groups and watched with amazement to their antics.

I have 4 cameras. I never have less than 2 and no more than 4 going at a time
