Thanks so much for posting these, BPG!  I have gotten an enormous amount of pleasure from looking at all of these videos.

One thing I'm curious about is how you get all of these interesting animals to be in front of your camera.  Is it the case that, if you think about a camera placement carefully enough, you can come up with locations where that many uncommon animals (i.e. not just deer, squirrels, etc.) will naturally wander by?  Or do you use some sort of attractant to pique their interest?  Whatever you are doing, the results are fascinating!  I'm always happy when I see that there has been an update to this thread.

Thanks.

Eric

Thanks for the kind words

You have to know where the animals are and their travel patterns.

The recent videos are from a area I scouted about a month ago. There is still a bit of water running in the creek and some mud on the banks. I noticed bobcat sign, turkey sign, coyote sign, wolf sign and a game trail crosses the creek at that camera set. No scent lure was used. The water is the attractant.

I'm out looking for sign all the
time. If I see a established game trail, fresh prints & scat / droppings I'll then make a set. Its never just willy-nilly. Its always deliberate, based on sign. Water is key ( usually within a mile of )

I use commercially made scent lures about 25% of the time. With the lure, I'm just attempting to get them ( I already know they're in area ) to pause long enough for a decent video or image as they pass by. I highly doubt these lures are calling these animals in from a long distance.

Ditto that. Always amazing shots that underscore your talent to locate wildlife.

Thanks for the reply, BPG.  Your lack of reliance on attractants makes these videos even cooler to me!  Keep them coming!!
