Interesting how the bears went nuts over the skunk essence, at least that's what one of the comments says was used. Apparently it's used by hunters to mask human scent but seems to do a lot more than that.

We were camping in our tent trailer at Fort Stevens one night and heard rustling beneath us. I grabbed my flashlight and shined it down thru the canvas and saw a huge black and white tail. We decided it could have whatever it was after and tried our best to go back to sleep.

Thanks Anne Elk, they are precious!
I used to live next to a playfield, and at dusk a family of skunks would emerge from some nearby woods and parade across the playfield with their tails up, over to a dumpster where they would have dinner. Needless to say, no one ever bothered them!

This lion came through 5 hours after I set the camera. Just another confirmation for us outdoor enthusiasts on how we sometimes come so close to encountering wildlife.
I've missed other lions, wolves & bears from a few hours to just minutes.

Just WOW, BPG!!! Not just a lion, but the whole famille! I noticed that the clip date is early December, and I'm guessing those cubs are less than a year old; so would she have birthed them last spring? Thank you for continuing to share with us.

It's odd with lions. Birth can be from spring to late fall ( May to October) Mating can take place at any time of the year.
Here is one from last year. November 22nd. Probably October birth

So very true. A couple of weeks ago I encountered a cougar while walking on some roads west of Wallace Falls. There was very noisy target shooting going on close by, so I wasn’t expecting to see any wildlife, but there it was, ambling down the road right towards me.
I raised my arms up and began walking backwards so I could keep my eye on it. Thankfully it just kept walking at a normal pace and as soon as I rounded a curve, I faced forward and walked very quickly away. That was the last I saw of it.
