My fav scramble boots have become too dang tight. Anyone have boot stretching techniques they could share? I'd be grateful for a cure. Still plenty of life in this pair. :-) Thanks, Brian!

Maybe get them soaking wet and walk around? I have a old container of shoe stretch liquid, not sure where I acquired it, never tried it, looks to be from the 60's...maybe they still make a similar product?

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

I've had shoes stretched at a shoe repair shop. They can probably work on boots too? Might be worth a try anyway.

I've had a pair of boots stretched at Neal's shoe shop in Wenatchee. Not expensive.

I found that giving a very heavy dose of Obenaufs to full leather boots softens up the leather (apply O then hit with blow dryer then re-apply when it soaks in repeat till it doesn't soak in any more). They form fit my feet and are about as water proof as is possible. I had a pair of old Asolo Yukons stretched many moons ago by a shoe shop - worked very well.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

I second Leafguy's comment about taking them to a shoe repair shop and putting them on the shoe-stretchers. Depending on how long they leave them on the stretcher,s they can stretch quite a bit and usually it's pretty cheap. Made all the difference on an old pair of heavy duty glacier boots of mine. They need to stretch slowly, so it could take a week.

Thanks for all the advise! I've had some success by placing a two foot length of sawed off broom stick into the toe of the boot, then beating the other end on the sidewalk, forcing rounded end into the toe. Kinda primal, I know. :-)
