I enjoyed your outing vicariously because I've tried to follow the road that that continues straight up the valley. It closes in with brush pretty quickly. I looked into the Maiden of the Woods info and became convinced it was no longer in place. I wonder how you determined it's location. Quite an interesting story about it.

Did you try Fred Krueger at the Granite Falls Historical Museum? He is a savant with old historical map overlays. Tom

Maiden of the Woods was struck by lightning in the mid-70's. There was a bit of it left afterward but it wasn't much to look at.
