Last weekend we headed down to Pup Creek Falls off the Clackamas River in Oregon. It's about an hour SE of Portland, but well worth the drive for early spring greens. We did an out and back from the Indian Henry trailhead instead of the more popular (and 0.8 miles shorter RT) Fish Creek trailhead. Glad we did - there were some very interesting features along the way, including Half Cave and bonus waterfalls. It rained pretty hard all day but the tree cover was a big help. The 235 foot grand finale was quite a sight. After hunkering down for lunch under a dry spot, we did the whole thing in reverse. Stopped at Ecliptic Brewing in Portland (highly recommended) before the long drive home.
I love the warm tones of your photos. This looks like a really fun hike. Maybe we'll check it out when we stay at the Edgefield McMenamins the next time.
