My brother wanted us to experience a Sedona Vortex, so he took us to Bell Rock on the outskirts of town. There were a lot of people on the main trail, which goes right up on Bell Rock, but we did a 4 1/2 mile loop around it and saw very few people. The Vortex is supposed to be some sort of energy field which makes you feel good. Not sure I felt it, because I was already in a good mood after spending a week in the warm Arizona sun, but there were lots of interesting flowers and good views!
Nice photos, Nancyann. Sedona definitely has its share of weirdness, one can certainly feel an energetic "pull" on the wallet by all the vortex and misc woo-promoters. When touring the area with a friend from Payson, we had snax at the Sedona airport bar - the fried cactus with dip was surprisingly good. That one plant with the white flowers looks like it might be a relative of convolvulus cneorum, a better-behaved plant than its cousin, morning glory.
