I am looking to get a tide chart app. Do you have one that you like? What do you like about it? What are your dislikes?

Rumi, I don't know about "apps" (don't use smartphone), but I like this site: Tide-forecast.com
I like the graphics with the blinky red dot showing where you are on the cycle in real time, and the additional moon info. Regular table beneath.

Go to NOAA, work your way through the menu.
Pick tidal station closest to destination, Neah bay for Shi Shi. Or Friday Harbor for the islands as examples. Easy to use.
If your looking for charts that show bottom characteristics I have no answer.

No app. for me either. Have used the hardcopy common Dots Fishing Guide for many years. Fun/useful info on rules of the road, Deception Pass currents, knots, fishing rigs, calendars, whale watching regs., and storm signals. Makes a great gift for friends. All PacNW newcomers get one with quick lesson in how to read the columns and rows. Eezycheezy. Essential info for a place like Hoh Head.

I use the TideTrac app and it suits suits my needs here in the San Juans. It is simple app but has what I need - you can choose from many tide stations, the tide chart is the same as what you see on the printed schedules so easy to interpret, and there are several viewing options (tables, charts, etc).

Tide Now WA app. I live on the beach and it's the best I've worked with.

If you're using android, I strongly recommend a free app called "Tide Now WA." It is fully functional offline, which is important on the Olympic coast. No ads, and it requires no permissions. I've been using it for years, and I think it's great. The same developer makes a "Tide Now OR" and some other states/regions.
It does not include predictions for currents, though, so don't use it for kayaking through Deception Pass.
Edit: Schroder beat me to it! But I second the recommendation.

I hesitate to use this term because it is so overused ... it was epic. Well epic for a legally blind backpacker.
Upon my return I had another eye surgery. As soon as my eye is better I will finish editing my photos and post a trip report.
I love PNW hiking, especially in the Olympics, but the desert is special also. If I can I am going back next year at the same time. The temps were perfect and it only rained once during the eight days. Even that was only about five to ten minutes. The river was like chocolate but I discovered that a Sawyer Squeeze used as gravity filter with a strong back flush every three liters is the best way to clean the water.

I've always used Saltwater Tides. Now the app will predict two weeks out and it will save your last search for offline. It's very basic, but I don't need much more than that.

OK Rumi, looking forward to the trip report. And I looked up the definition of legally blind. Having seen that definition no, I don't think the word epic would be an overstatement. More power to you, I'm full of admiration.
