Lots of good suggestions all. Thanks. Keep them coming.

I don't. They're basically a cedar box with a seat on it. Apparently they come in kits and we haul up the pieces and assemble them on-site. We're trying to do something to solve the "there's toilet paper all over the place" problem. Not that we can completely solve it but maybe lessen it. ~Slim

I'll second malachite lake, also if you need assistance with hauling them up or assembly pm me I'm more than happy to help if I can get the time off, and if you need a representative to start getting some of these for the Gifford pinchot ( us 12 and 410) let me know and I can help there also.

Blanca lake does not but Virgin lake has 2, and seeing you can no longer camp at Blanca lake that should be adequate I'd think.

What about Blanca Lake, does it have one yet? I haven't been there in 4 or more years just because it has been overrun by hikers and with toilet paper and S$#T all over. MLH

I can't think of anywhere in the Skykomish district but Jade Lake north of Mt. Daniel is an obvious candidate. edit: or wait, is it in the Skykomish district? Since most access it from Cle Elum I assumed it was part of that district, but maybe not, it's not much farther to access it from Route 2.

Here is a report by a forum member who along with his brother placed one of those in Leroy Basin. https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8006769

Jade could certainly use one. Good suggestion.

You gotta supply that good Kirkland Costco two ply, none of that thin stuff like they use on the ferries.

We are a non-profit organization, the Washington Hi-Lakers, that is working with the Forest Service on improving water and overall environmental quality in the backcountry. To that end, we are volunteering to assemble and install new privies. As a pilot, we need your suggestions on where a new privy should be located.
Slim, thanks for your efforts and that of your team to do this much needed work. How are these privies maintained? Are these just deep holes covered by the privy and they work until they are filled up? Does the Forest Service take care of them or is this something that the Hi-Lakers do as well? Do you all go check on the ones that are already in place to see if they need attention? This may be privileged information, but is there a list of locations that have privies already? Might be good to know. It would be great if someone could post a good link to an online map of the Skykomish District. I could find printed versions, but not a very good online version. This one is fair, but hard to see any detail. One place that needs one is Gothic Basin, but I imagine that is in the Darrington District. ? Thanks, ~z
