Thanks to KUOW doing an interview with Ian McAllister, Director/Founder of BC nonprofit Pacific Wild, I discovered that a new documentary on the Great Bear Rainforest is having a run at the Pacific Science Center starting May 3rd. Although playing at the IMAX theater, it's not in IMAX format, so not at IMAX prices. Highly recommend this film; hopefully they'll expand on the current bizarre showtimes.
I discovered the work of Pacific Wild following a sailboat trip up thru BC's inside passage and Haida Gwaii in 2010. Lobbied Seattle Town Hall to bring McAllister in for a lecture, and they made it a Canadian two-fer, also bringing in Andrew Nikiforuk, probably Canada's current best environmental jounalist. His books on the Alberta Tar Sands and the beetle plague killing off North American forests are excellent.
