Teamed up with Jessica Sagnella from Seattle area to take advantage of the weather and overnight freeze. Recent reports indicated the route was getting thin so we brought a lot of rock and ice gears that we ended up not using. The couloir had good snow for most of it but had a few short mixed sections. The crux was about 3/4 of the way up and was about 20 feet of mixed on compacted and down-sloping rocks. We soloed the whole ascent and did three rappels on descent. One 60m rope was sufficient but a couple anchors was iffy and needed to be backed up (which we did so using one .5 cam on one and a new cord on the other). 4.5 hours round trip. This was my 4th summit in that broad area and I should come back for more - Silver Star, Big Snagtooth, Ballard and now SEWS.
