I really thought, that with all the heat, the snow would have
consolidated by now: Wrong Hairball
It was way too soft, sticky and mostly un-turnable stuff.
Give it another 7 to 10 days (from 9 May) and things should
be much better.
If you're into snowshoeing; you'll have a great time taking
in the (always) awesome views.

Wide skis with tip rocker and a coarse wax job work surprisingly well in "corn meal mush" but watch out for slush slides kicked off by prior turns, they can build speed and catch up.

I skied there ten days ago and it was great. Just shows how conditions can vary quickly. Usually they get firmer, but sometimes they go back and forth. We were there on a surprisingly cool, yet very nice day. An early start helps too. If it was mushy a couple days ago, I would imagine it is very mushy today.

Taking your advice I went up yesterday for my annual snowshoe up to Huntoon Point. It was a blue bird day and I only saw about 20 people all day (that includes up and down!). The snow was slushy and added some extra weight but really, not bad at all. The views as always were excellent.
