I wouldn't typically do a trip report for Barclay Lake, given how popular and straight-forward it is, but we went there yesterday(it's a great hike for our young dog to do since he's not ready for longer ones) and found a still smoldering campfire at one of the campsites. We spent time getting water from the lake and properly extinguishing it, but just a note to be on the lookout for things like this.
Thank you for dousing the fire. I've done that a few times over the years. Once at one of the Greenwater Lakes, and another time in Idaho in the Big Horn Crags. In both cases the fire wasn't just smoldering, it was red hot still. So stupid.
Are we having a race to see who can start the first wildfire this year?
First of all people shouldn't be allowed to build fires at Barclay, but then they aren't suppose to at Josephine either but still do. Kudos to you for extinguishing the fire. There are a lot of new people venturing the outdoors that have no idea what they shouldn't be doing
