I drove up to the Pete lake trailhead today. The road is open all the way to the Horse parking lot. That's on the right side of the picture. The hiking trailhead road is blocked by snow about 100 yards before the start of the trail.

Note: About a quarter mile BEFORE the turn off to Cooper lake there is a long stretch of snow on the pavement that requires a high clearance vehicle! The two wheel paths are bare, but the center will require a high clearance so as to not get high centered. That obstacle should be gone in a few days.
I also drove up to the Thorp lake/Little Joe lake parking lot. The road is blocked by snow about 100 yards from the trailhead.

I stopped by the Cle Elum ranger station to report my findings. They told be that because of the snow on the paved portion of Cooper lake road they aren't going to suggest going into the Pete trail head yet. I get it, if someone tried to cross that snow section in a normal car they would get high centered.
