Rainier speed record has been broken again this past weekend.
3 hours, 24 min

Ski's or not, that's incredibly fast, with FKT now held by:

36 minutes from summit to car. Really? On skis I could see this. Not on foot.

Incredible. 2 hours and 48 minutes to ascend nearly 8 miles over 9,000 feet of gain. |

With those times, there's probably no need to. |

I s'poze someone somewhere has set the Guiness World Record for the fastest honeymoon... but why bother?
Myself, I always seem to be trying to spend as much time as possible on a mountain. |

In what, an Arctic Cat?
I thought the sub 5 hour record set a few years back was incredible.

This is the coolest thing to happen since the Cascades were renamed "The Bulgers". |

I suppose they got serious bragging rights.
Does anyone out there remember the 78yo woman who
did round trip in 19 hrs.
It must have been about 15 yrs ago by now.
I ran into here the next year on my way to Muir.
She told me she was trying to beat her record!
So to you speed freaks: When you're 78 write back
and let us all know how fast you made that round trip |
