Luna's Sweet Child o' Mine is better than GnR's. And to give GnR a nod, though not better, they do a damn fine job of Knockin' on Heaven's Door. There are some weird covers out there; Led Zeppelin's When the Levee Breaks is a cover of an old song from the 1920's.

Not a fan of the Luna version but enjoyed the Gregorian chant:

That's an amazing tune connection, Sluggo. What a strange side-trip in 60's music Sam was... "who's that I see walkin' in these woods?"

I read that Wooly Bully was based on a song called Hully Gully, but all I found was a song by The Olympics that is completely different. But then I found the above tune, Hully Gully Now, by Big Bo and His Arrows, and I knew that was the one. Now the question to me is: rip off, or changed so much it is a new song. hmmm.gif

lol.gif Poor Nickleback has to be the most maligned band in the world. I don't love them, but they aren't really that bad are they?

Here's another Cat Stevens song for you Get Out and Go. The remake is by some rockers but it's pretty faithful to the original.

Lucius is an interesting band I found accidentally from a cameo in the Showtime series "Roadies" (I thought it was great but critics hated it and it got cancelled after 1 season). Anyway they have a unique approach. 2 vocalists, they don't take turns singing lead, it's not really lead and harmony, they co-lead sing on every song as far as I can tell. They also have a shtick where they have the exact same hair style and clothes, so they are like mirror images of each other, except one of them is about 6 inches taller than the other. Anyway they have some great original songs but this is a nice cover they do.
(Bonnie Raitt does a cover of this too)

Jasmine Thompson got her start on You Tube. I don't know if she tours much or at all. She got started fairly young, she's got a ton of songs posted. Might do a few originals but mostly covers. Here's a Tears for Fears song that has been covered quite a few times.

Thanks "OlderthanIusedtobe" for posting this one. Exactly, if someone crawled out of a cave, they would be hard pressed to sort out the original and the cover. confused.gif

Well, yes, they are that bad. The lead singer sounds like he's sitting on the pot and needs a laxative when he "sings". Then there are the lyrics that disrespect women, their intense vanity and hubris, the list goes on and on.

Nature exists with a stark indifference to humans' situation.

No, they're not that bad. I'm not a big fan but they're decent musicians and can write and play a tune. It's just that they're not woke enough, and for that, they must pay.
