QFC in Facroria used to carry this -- but no longer -- not worth flying to Anchorage to buy there -- anybody know of somewhere in the Seattle that still stocks it?  (I could order from Amazon -- but would prefer to buy in a store)

I saw pilot bread at Saars in Bremerton last week.  I think they have a store in Seattle.

I'm 90% sure I saw it at the Ballard Market - so any of the "Town & Country Market" stores may stock it - Shoreline, Winslow, Bellevue.

edit: Yup, Ballard Mkt has it, the "Sailor Boy" brand.  Now I'm intrigued to try it, but if I didn't like it, I'd have to feed it to the birds in my yard, or get it to Randy.

Wow! Pilot bread! A flashback to Boy Scouts ... 50 years ago! Haven't had any interest since.  shakehead.gif

Good luck finding it locally. You can have my share!   embarassedlaugh.gif

Our kids loved Pilot Bread, they called it Pie Biscuits on long canoe trips. It once allowed me to kick steps up The Brothers.

Uwajimaya had some -- but not the "Sailor Boy" brand of my youth.

I have fond memories of eating the stuff smeared with PB&J or topped with sardines while sitting on various Cascade summits with my dad in the '60s and '70s.    He passed away recently and I'm planning on revisiting many of those summits, releasing a bit of his ashes and lunching on Pilot bread.

Yeah, 50 years or more than that in my case. We had it with us on a hike out of Camp Parsons back in the early 50's.

The pilot bread I saw at Saar's was "Sailor Boy".
