Sitting my shop, *thinking* about 1) continuing varnishing a project, 2) going for a much needed haircut, 3) getting a beer.
....and later, the varnish won first place, beer second and haircut has to wait for appointment...

I’m in my paddling canoe on beautiful Joe Creek, right next to Pacific Beach state park. Incredibly peaceful, the rumble of the surf backing up the amazing variety of bird sounds. I just saw a crow pull on the tail feathers of a juvenile eagle. The forecast for today was rain, and it did, hard, but then it stopped.
Don’t let the shallow water of the creek fool you. Just carry or roll your boat a hundreds yards upstream along the sand from the campground, the creek becomes a forested backwater, not affected by tide changes (much).

Just got home from working my day off and taking the dog for a walk... having a cocktail. (I’m off tomorrow) (HOPEFULLY!).

Trying to get to sleep. I start a 50+ mile solo canoe trip tomorrow. I am hoping to hear loons and a wolf pack!
