I've started a separate blog for travel to very cool places but don't necessarily entail a lot of hiking. My first post is the unique transit of the Maras Salt Ponds in Peru, unique in that the typical tourist will only visit the upper portion of the ponds; we booked a private company and were able to hike from a small village below the ponds and transit the entire complex. Very cool. http://www.williswall.com/travel/2019/7/20/peru-maras-salt-ponds-transit

Interesting walk, but how can that way of gathering salt be economically viable in this day and age?
