Quick (tardy) report from last Tuesday.
Had a Californian friend in town who wanted to do a hike so I figured we could get up to the ridge & see the views.
Wasn't in as good shape as I thought....
We made it to the gap.
Trail is in pretty good shape. One huge blowdown that has been made into a tunnel. The trail is fairly flat the first mile, then gets steeper, but its really nicely switchbacked so not too hard.
Note that the trailhead is 25 yards further down the road from the "parking area".
Wished we could have gone further. Perhaps I'll come back in a couple of weeks & go out the ridge.
The road's in pretty good shape up to the th.
There's still a bit more up hill from the Gap, but it's so nice when you break out into the open. Actually the up hill never ends, it's rolling up and down all along the ridge.
