I'm planning a trip in the pasayten area. Has anyone been on West Fork Pasayten, Middle Fork Pasayten, or Buckskin Ridge trails this year? Curious about trail conditions.

sorry I don't have anything from this year but you probably ran across my report from last year indicating the Middle Fork Pasayten having just been cleared but the north part of Buckskin in not-great shape.

Thanks Neek. I couldn't find anything from this year and supposedly the WTA has been working on it. FS website had information for the wrong trail entered for buckskin and nothing for middle fork. I did get ahold of FS in Winthrop, they said they would fix it. The report from there was buckskin clear to Silver lake, West Fork clear to Holman creek, Middle fork cleared all the way to boundary trail.

Just did Devil’s Dome loop. The rivers shown as permanent streams (solid blue lines) on the map were all running.
Devil’s Pass spring was nearly dry, Just a trickle, and it is marked on the map.
Snow at 7000’ on north side of Devil’s Dome, so a high bivvy with snowmelt might be possible if you have enuf fuel.
Met the Devil, too. Fine fellow. I know, cause Al liked him; can’t fool a dog.

Did the Buckskin Ridge Trail in June. Trail was in great shape from the trailhead to Buckskin itself. Much better than the last time I was on it. It appeared to me it had been completely logged on that stretch maybe last year? Log cuts looked very recent. There were a few new blow downs here and there. A few down in the hole below Silver Pass from a slide but easily walked through.
On the way back went down the chute trail from Buckskin and hit Middle Fork. Middle Fork trail back to Slate did have blow downs here and there. With the amount of traffic that trail gets I would guess it's been cleared by now.

Followed the Buckskin Ridge trail last week. 3 downfalls past Silver Lake and another half dozen or so on the way down to the Pasayten fork, all easy to pass. Trail in good shape, no problem following.
