After years of thinking about doing this hike we finally decided to do it. The weather was great and we built up the confidence to do it. One of the best lakes we have ever been too. Obviously didn’t see a person there. Had a great time fishing and swimming. Even found an old airplane wrecked in the woods which was interesting.. I’m guessing ~4 miles off trail. I wouldn’t recommend this hike if you are not comfortable off trail. I would also say you should be with someone to help with route finding.

Looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Just out of curiosity how did you happen to pick that route to go there?

Been there three times. Been in from every direction. I like going in via the Hardscrabbles best.

That Airplane wreckage has been there a long time. Was a failed attempt at a takeoff from Dorothy. Did you hit Fools Gold Lk?

Nice pictures!! I did that same route a few years ago. Saw the wreckage too. Also thought therer would be no people but got caught naked getting out of the lake by a couple coming up the same route about an hour after me. Probably not the high point of their weekend.....

Well Damn, as long as Dorothy is, I wonder what kind of plane that was. Where is the wreckage relative to Dorothy lake? Ive not seen it.
