last year I did a trip up patty go easy pass. We traversed the ridge NW camped at French pot and then continued the traverse and exited via tuck and robin trail. Loved the area, but hated the drive… couldn’t wonder if I could get to the same area from the icicle side…
Started at icicle creek TH at a little past noon. Trail is in great shape! there is a well-marked intersection to split off around Bobs lake and to upper Klonaqua. We made it to the upper lake at just after 3 pm had some lunch then continued up the ridge south of Klonaqua. Looking at the cliffs surrounding the lake I couldn’t help but wonder if we would get cliffed out then forced to make a retreat. But everything went just fine, found a little notch at 5700 followed the path of least resistance and made it to the Unnamed? Pots under granite mountain. Couldn’t imagine a more beautiful area to spend the night and view the Perseids shower.
Woke up later than we should have, slugged our way up and over granite mountain. Explored and fished the pots on that side of the mountain. We played around with the idea of exiting via Leland lake but decided to head back over and exit via Klonaqua we hiked down to Swedes Lake and fished for a little while before making our way down to Klonaqua. From swedes lake to the NE shore of Klonaqua was hot garbage. If I had a time machine, I would exit via the south ridge from which we came. Fished, slept, woke up, home for lunch.

Honestly, going high doesn't look that bad other than gaining elevation. That inlet area is a sublime spot to launch a raft though.
