Ah, but it's great for the newer members who missed the first NWH mention. Love the Twitter comments. Deserves an entry (if there was one) as "equipment to help you facilitate your Darwin Award candidacy". Thanks, Contour5!

Make sure you run an extension cord to it with a power strip resting on a floating flip flop

Post it on Washington Hikers & Climbers and bill it as a bad-ass, cool thing to do.

The ultimate for those averse to critters in the campsite, unless of course you use it in croc and hippo territory. Locally, it's the ultimate "fish from your window" hotel room (apolgies to the Edgewater).

Looks pretty cool other than the price. I could envision fishing out the window. I am guessing it's fairly puncture resistant.

If they could get the Icicle ranges to allow extra permits for those that camp ON the enchantment lakes it would be a goldmine.

I hiked one into Tank Lakes, it was effing rad.
What, you're still sleeping on dirt? Pfft. No wonder you don't have 20 billion Instagram followers like me.
Anyway, I'm throwing a float camp party next weekend at Jade Lake. Bring a boombox and as many spare batteries as you can.

Have you ever wondered how many people have fallen to the ground from those car/truck top tents in middle of the night "nature calls" runs?

A few weeks ago my wife insisted I at least take her on a car camping trip for our wedding anniversary so we camped at Nason Creek near Lake Wenatchee and ate dinner at the relatively new four star Wild Flour restaurant at nearby Kahler Glen golf course (Great Place to eat!). Anyway, we were camped next to a Canadian couple with a tent on top of their lifted Toyota 4Runner with cantilevered extensions and ladder to the ground . The two of them were also sleeping with their full grown Lab up top. We chatted the next morning and he told me they had been travelling around the PNW all summer staying in campgrounds and had some interesting experiences with the set-up.
