Anyone know what all the flagging and orange spray paint near the top of Tiger #3 is about?  Looks like they are cutting a new trail, but it's not obvious from where or to where.

Saw it on Cableline Friday.

Back in the day surveying classes used to practice there. That is how the Section Line Trail got is name, the original trail followed the surveyors track down the fall line. The new one added semi switchbacks. This one certainly has more than enough blades, flags, and paint splotches to do the job. Whale they are at it they could scalp the trees on the summit, used to be the best view in the alps.

It's not the tagging for another round of logging up there?

During this past week we went up Cable and then dropped down to the RR Grade and over to K3 and then up to WT2 and then traversed back over to WT3 and out.  The excessive spray paint, ribbons, and tree blazing extends south east to the south of WT2 (at least).  We did not investigate to see if it went beyond WT2.  They're not replacing the Cable are they?

I checked my maps and determined I was wrong (happens rarely) it was based on an old book written by Bill Longwell. What it is is the boundary between public land and private land within public land (according to green trails). It is part of the strip that includes all of the West Tiger Peaks. I still wouldn’t mind if they clearcut it, not exactly virgin wilderness.

They sure did do a lot of blazing and flagging.   Seems like someone went berserk.   If it is for logging, I don’t mind.   It would be nice to have a view.
