The Cedar Creek Trail # 476 starts about a mile S SR 20 several miles W of the Mazama turnoff and extends almost 10 miles to Abernathy Pass where the trail enters the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wildnerness. The trail continues from the pass on a generally SSW heading for a couple of miles to a junction with the North Lake Trail #423, some 4 miles from Gilbert near the head of the Twisp River Road.
On August 20, Don Hecker, Cathy Upper and I cut out the first five miles or so of the trail.
Cathy is the president of the Methow chapter of Backcountry Horsement of Washington and is one of the most devoted trail advocates and actual fixers-of-trails I've ever met. Another is Don H, with whom I've been doing lots of trail work this summer. Fun stuff, and very therapeutic.
On August 22-24th, the trail was cleared all the way to Abernathy Pass by Don and Val Hecker, John and Libby Sunderland, Tom Janes and Tina Short and Bennet and Cathy Upper.

More terrific trail work from which many people will benefit. These are the unsung heroes that we can thank in general when we see cut logs and trimmed brush, fixed water bars and cut tread.
Thanks, KK. for providing some names of the heroes, you being first among them IMO.
