Maybe try calling the ranger station. But 8k ft very likely too be snow if you are going to the peak.
I tried calling 4 times today without luck. Very much expect snow, but looking to see about mountaineering boots vs hiking boots, and possible need for floatation.

We just got back from the Eagle Lakes Trail, which is a bit further south, but this may help you. No snow on the road to the trailhead, but snow begins at the trailhead. Two and a half to three feet deep at 6500 feet and snowing when we left. Didn’t make it all the way to the lakes, just a little too cold and snowy to make it worthwhile. Winter has arrived early there.
