Spent the night in Wenatchee and then headed up Shady Pass Road via Entiat on Saturday morning. Road is in great condition until a half mile before the pass, then it's muddy/rutty. FS 112 to the Pyramid TH was fairly rough but not too awful.
Encountered tons of hunters on the drive in and quite a few on the hike up as well. Didn't see any other hikers all day. Snow begins at the base of Crow Hill, with partial coverage on the southern slopes leading to the top. Outstanding views despite the clouds and lots of larches, especially on the north side of Crow Hill proper.

Checked out Big Hill on the way out.
Stopped at Silver Falls for a quick hike before the long journey back home.
Beautiful! I'm a fan of Crow Hill and its views, but since I only went up once in late spring (from the Butte Creek side) I don't remember the larches. They look lovely in your pictures.

Wow!!! Be sure to submit a larch photo or two at calendar time! (Assuming there will be one?)
Hard to pick a favorite, but the third from the top (the close-up) would be at or near the best, IMHO.
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey
