Fall colors are looking good and should be for another week. Hiked about 2.5 miles into the canyon and climbed up to a perch for lunch and views. Not too many people out today. Tons of apples, some pears, and some other mystery fruit (lemons?) in the canyon. Saw some bighorn sheep on the drive out.

Lemon trees cannot survive a frost. I never noticed the fruit trees, I guess I only go in the spring.

The compound leaves are indicative of a nut like walnut, I think the "fruit" are actually husks.

Yeah, those are walnuts. There's a tree right where you cross the creek.

Great photography. You really make that canyon look inviting this time of year. And while scrolling through the photos I am thinking, "Well, it's rattlesnake country and did she see any this late in the season?" haha Yes! ~z
