Weather looks good this weekend and I'm thinking about doing some backpacking/camping. Any recommendations where snow can be avoided? My camping gear is 3-season.
One place I've been looking at is Colonial Creek campground. It's open with no services, no water. I guess restroom will also be locked? Is there a portable toilet at this campground? Going in the wilderness anywhere near the campground is definitely a big no-no so I'm not sure how others handle this.
I can't speak to off-season at Colonial but Gorge Lake Campground just down the road is pretty nice and has pit toilets. There's no snow predicted for the next 5 days and the snow level has crept up pretty high. Any of the trails along Ross Lake should be fine.
