That's obviously Mount Si.  Sorry to ruin the secret.  Everybody who wants to go see a wolf, your best bet is to glimpse a member of the Mount Si Wolfpack.

Could be a Clydeacabra.  One passed through my yard last winter during the snows.

Nice remote cam work getting that second shot! Nothing like waking up after a hard winter's night and checking the cam traps to see a beast like that was within the frame at some point during the night!

I am no way qualified to say if that's a wolf track or not but to say there is no grain or dog food in the scat is a little silly.
My dog eats raw food-meat and bone with some veg. Lots of people have gone grain free/raw for their dogs.
The biggest difference is that because my dog does eat raw diet which means he digests his food better, his poops are much drier than this. (And smaller, he only weighs 11# smile.gif )
The only canine scat I am familiar with is coyote. They always have a pointy "tail" that is made from all the hair/fur they ingest.
Anyhoo, it would be a dream to see a wolf in the wild.

Well I guess I should have been more clear. By dog food I mean what most people think of when you mention dog food, which is what you find in a bag in the pet food aisle in Fred Meyer. It's easily identifiable in scat as it has a soft granular texture. I took this scat apart to see if it contained granular “dog food” as one would buy in a bag. It didn't. It did contain digested protein (blood and meat) which appears as smooth dark goo with no granular texture, so, yeah that's also technically dog food as well.

It also contained a lot of hair, so if you feed your dog meat and fur then that's technically dog food too and your dog's poop would probably resemble this. I didn’t photograph the scat when I took it apart, but here’s a zoomed-in image that clearly shows hair.

I expect some folks will reason differently from me and I'm eager to learn if someone has good evidence that it’s something other than wolf.

You have a Clydeacabra that you take hiking?  You are some kind of crazy beast-whisperer! I've always heard that they are wild, untameable, and will ravage your bacon.

It was quite the surprise, and a bit disconcerting. That paw print was right outside my door!

No scat unfortunately. Not sure what scat from a creature that eats mostly bacon would look like anyway.
