Managed to reach steep slope near summit, Mt. David, way back in 198s. Somehow, lost my balance and decided that was enough! Headed back down. The long slog upward was punctuated with gun shots (deer hunters?). Autumn hiking can get a little "dangerous!"
Thank you all for the superb shots from summit. Spent many (and long!) trail trips into that region of Cascades in 1980s and early '90s. Actually, many trips in late 70s and on til I had to cut back due to age, mid-90s. Love that region of God's best concept of "God's Country!"

Yes, indeed, long time since checking in! Many changes and "old age" have confounded existence hereabouts! Nevertheless, I remain interested in our magnificent alp lands and in sharing many experiences of long ago and "now!" Thanks for your comment. BTW, my pair of great canines passed in 2016, each at the exact same age (15 yrs, 10.5 mo.). I have a rescue, same breed, now over 3.5 years of age. A challenge to keep up with him. Oh, he has taken to be very wary and hyper, re: coyotes!
