John Fleckenstein, retired from the Washington DNR, will give a lecture tonight, November 20th, at the Seattle Mountaineers entitled "Tools and Tricks of the Pollination Trade" about the relationship and specialization of plants and their pollinators. Sponsored by the Seattle Mountaineer Naturalists, and the first in a series of four winter lectures https://www.mountaineers.org/locations-lodges/seattle-program-center/events/copy_of_naturalists-study-group-lecture-4, it is $5 to Mountaineer members, but is $10 to non-members. This is an expanded lecture of the one John gave at the 2019 UW Botanical symposium, an annual one day symposium on a wide variety of topics: https://botanicgardens.uw.edu/education/adults/conferences-symposia/wa-botanical-symposium/
I saw John’s presentation at the 2019 seminar and found it fascinating. Needless to say, pollination is an important topic in the present age.
