Better yet, never listen to Zappa ever. 
This isn't really a religion thread, it's an obituary for a historical figure who was influential during the lives of many people here. I don't think it's wrong to post, and I don't see how other people he didn't associate with are relevant in an obit.

I somehow made it thru my own metaphysical wanderings without picking up anything written by Ram Dass or Richard Alpert. But I have to imagine RD would likely be highly amused by some of these posts. It's the nature of enlightenment, right?

Great variety, sense of humor, and of course musical talent. For some it is an aquired appreciation, but you will thank me.

I was greatly dismayed to find that there is no "RIP Frank Zappa" thread on this website.
Following Washakie's suggestion, allow me to refer you to a true masterpiece from a man who was far ahead of his time:
Frank Zappa - Uncle Meat
and because the final track on the album, for reasons which defy explanation, always seems to get chopped in half or otherwise adulterated:
all 18 minutes and 12 seconds of the original vinyl version of KING KONG

I'm pretty sure Ram Dass would appreciate this thread. He may well have been a Zappa fan himself. I wonder if he might have even figured out what Burnt Weenie Sandwich was all about?
