Wanted to enjoy the sunny skies on Sunday, but didn't feel like putting a whole bunch of effort. Dad & myself settled on #94 of the Wenatchee backcourt list. The 2 of us arrived at the 29 Pines pullout and were on the way up Jungle Cr Road by 8:30. There is still plenty of snow on the road, but thankfully it was consolidated and we didn't need snowshoes. The road is a pretty tedious 4 mile slog with minimal views.

After 4 miles we came to a junction with another forest road. We weren't really sure of the route here and ended up wasting 15 minutes debating what to do. Eventually we just took out the map / compass and took a near direct line to the Butte.

This included an ascending traverse through remnants of the Jolly Mountain fire to an obvious saddle along the Ridge. At that point dad led along the broad Ridge to the summit. Was a spectacular day up there taking in the views of the Teanaway. Views from Yellow Hill all the way to Dragontail and everything between.

We thought about descending a different route and tagging Tarzan Butte and hitting Rye Creek Rd, but decided it probably wasn't worth the effort for no additional views. Made it back to the car at 3 giving us plenty of time to celebrate w/ beer and food in Leavenworth. Snowshoes never left the pack. 11.3 miles w/ 2,300' gained. Another great day in the mountains!!!

Man-Oh-Man! Wasn't that Teanaway snow fantastic for hiking / climbing yesterday. I took advantage again today.

Experience is what'cha get, when you get what'cha don't want
