The snout, build, and dense fur argue otherwise. David Moskowitz would know. The ear looks different also.

He's written a Braided River book about that species in BC. |
I contacted David Moskowitz and he says its a lightly colored deer.

Incredible photography and perseverance. Despite her occasional discomforts, nature is always a beautifully photogenic subject.

Well good to know. Had it been a Mountain Caribou it would have been the wildlife sighting of the past twenty years. I looked through images of White-tailed deer and there were none that were colored like that.

Whitetail's antlers have tines that branch out from a single beam, whereas a muley's antlers are bifurcated and often branch multiple times.

It would make the occasional wolverine/ fisher/ lynx sightings seem common place, and even the rare grizzly sightings in the North Cascades would seem almost frequent by comparison. Apparently the mountain (aka woodland) caribou is one of the most endangered ungulates in North America.
I saw a young woodland caribou ( collared with a tracking device) at close range in the Selkirks just across the B.C. / WA border 31 years ago, and it was one of the most special wildlife encounters of my life .
There has been at least one very white deer hanging around on Mt. Constitution ( Orcas) for a while, at least up until early 2019.
