Went with friends Stavros, Tim, and Sarah today, to teach Frances canyoneering. We scrambled down to a saddle and then dropped in, climbers right. The first rappel goes through a cannon hole in the middle of a natural arch. After that we did a short rappel using Tim as a "meat anchor".
The next two rappels are both about 150 feet. There are a few more short rappels and then below a waterall is the relatively secret Moonscape Hotsprings. We relaxed there for a time before scrambling up and out through Emerald Pools Canyon.
Online beta says the only exit option for Devil's Drain requires pack-rafting the Colorado River, however Stav has scouted this area before and effectively guided us up and out, even ending in the dark.
What an adventure! Rappels through a hole, a ' meat anchor' ( hope he was the largest and strongest), a hot spring, some brush, and an exit in the dark!
