Nisqually River - 10-28-19We wanted to take a walk somewhere next to water, and this seemed like a good idea. I hadn't been there in over a decade, but it had remained pretty much the same as I remembered it since they reinforced the levee wall. We were fortunate to have picked a great day for the trip.

We found some interesting architecture on the gravel bar that demanded our attention. The breadth of the flood plain and the height of the levee wall tell that this seemingly small stream isn't always so well-behaved. The scenery all around was fabulous.

We drove downstream a little ways and I dusted off a picnic table where we had a late lunch and enjoyed the light.
