Unless one is racing, there really is no need to use anything other than simple and cheap hydrocarbon waxes. Using waxes containing fluoride compounds of any sort is needlessly expensive -- that applies to older fluoride containing waxes and these new compounds as well.
Now if you have sub-6 percent body fat and spend 40+ hours a week race training -- then maybe the older fluoride containing waxes are worth considering -- otherwise it's like riding a carbon fiber road bike with 18mm tires and sporting a beer gut.
I night half a dozen Swix Universal Glide Waxes last fall when they were on sale, the liquid one. Is using it going to wreck my lungs?
Only if you smoke it.
Since we are on the subject, I have been tempted to try the "wax" tape on my uses wax death skis. But I haven't.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
