Hey long time! I just started a blog to put all my crazy hiking stories in. Today I am starting a 273  mile backpack in New Zealand and I will be posting all my ridiculous misadventures about it. Feel free to follow along its already getting weird!

Sounds like a wonderful adventure!  I hiked a tiny portion of it last year when I was on the South Island.  Are you familiar with Walking with Wired? (www.walkingwithwired.com)  She wrote about her experience on the Te Araroa a few years ago.  Plus some long trails in Australia and Tasmania.
Lots of good intel in her posts.  Plus highly entertaining, as I am sure yours will be as well!   up.gif

GG, are those the summit caves of Half Dome in your site banner? I remember reading stories of a group getting zapped (to death I think) in those caves during a lightning storm, might have been in one of Jon Krakauer's collections of stories/articles. Been decades, I don't remember the details, but the valley is iconic biggrin.gif GL and everybody gtfo this year!
