This was just a quickie hike on the edge of Borrego Springs after other business in town. Not the best time of yr. for this canyon, as the "surprise" part refers to some cool wildflowers that can be found here. Alas those would not pop up for months.
The parking area is the same as it is for Hellhole Canyon. Since this was a Monday & late in the day, thankfully it wasn't crowded. I walked up the canyon, then looped back just above it to the east.
& of course, a marg @ Carmelita's.
