As seen from our new yard high on a ridge looking northwesterly above the Skok Valley about 9 miles north of Shelton. Our neighbor thinks it's Elk Lick but I'm not so sure. It's SW of the Brothers and NE of Washington.

Hmmmm... just looking at Google Earth, I'm going to go with Mount Bretherton.

You could try Caltopo's "simulated view" from your location.

I believe it is the north end of the ridge that contains mt pershing. Not sure if it has it's own name.

Does this help? Washington on the left and the mystery mountain on the right. Click on it twice for a larger image.

I don't know the name of that mountain but with the coordinates of the viewing area I might be able to take some guesses and like what was mentioned before it could be an unnamed peak. If you have or know someone that has the peakfinder app maybe you could figure it out using the app. https://www.peakfinder.org/mobile/

The web version of peakfinder at www.peakfinder.org does a good job of helping identify peaks if you can locate your eye fairly accurately. If you can locate your viewpoint on a map then play with the altitide a bit and it should allow you to recognize the profile and pick out the name of the peaks.

PeakFinder says it's Bretherton if I'm guessing close enough to your location. Here's a couple photos taken from SE of Jefferson Ridge, showing from Mt Stone to The Brothers.

Here's a pic I found on the climbing guide of Jefferson and Pershing. They seem closer to Washington than this peak. Like in that cluster of peaks just to the right of Washington in my pix. Am I wrong? http://www.climbersguideolympics.com/peaks/skokomish-duckabush-group/jefferson-peak-thorson-peak Albert ... your shot of Bretherton looks more like what I'm viewing, plus it's in the right location. As soon as the fog lifts I'll look at it in the binocs again, but I'm thinking you and awilsondc are right. I have a PM to AA to see what he thinks too. We need to get Peakfinder! There are a few more distant peaks I want to identify.

I think awilsondc and Abert have it. Comparing the pictures it sure looks like Bretherton.

BTW ... here are a few pix I snapped from our new house. Feeling so lucky to have this special view and to be so close to the Olympics now. Ellinor where you can clearly see the winter route ... having spent the night up there on snow a few years ago it's esp cool to see it from our new place
