I've been reluctant to post trips on this site due to "sensitive" places I tend to go. But I also feel like I should contribute as I have used the heck out of this site and greatly enjoyed it. I will not post the name of this lake to slow google crawls.I also am giving crappy directions but you can infer from the pictures what my route was. Took the lady of the lake up to Lucerne.

It took me much longer than I wanted to get to the camp as every stream crossing was completely blown out and somewhat zesty to navigate with a weeks worth of food on my back.

as dusty as it looks . steak was eaten to pep me up.

dirtnapkin camp was nicer with a steak for dinner! Next morning I started traversing into the side valley and blew it and started to soon. It was steep with no shade and I almost bonked before I got to the lake.

spent six nights out and really enjoyed the location and the fishing was good enough.

It was a great trip to a place that felt very wild. I had a week and saw one person a half hour from Lucerne. It really is the middle of nowhere.

Nice report. Did you go in via the not maintained route? Your last 2 pics indicate you might have run the ridge.

I traveled from the North cross country up the valley pictured in the two pictures named "valley" in my report. The second to last picture is top of this valley looking south. basically the first look of the lake. I had thought of using the not maintained trail approach but I did this trip the first week of June. You can see in my camp picture that snow was actually still there so in a way I lucked out or nailed it.My cheese went in the snow during the day ....

Ah, ok, that makes sense. I was confused why you were that high but perhaps you just came in a little high or wanted to navigate a safe distance from the widowmakers.

and to cascadetraverser it is an incredible place with good fishing. just not worth it for the fishing alone if that makes sense.

How much weight do you figure you were carrying?

So nice. I love long backcountry treks. Been trying to spend more time in that area but it was pulling teeth just to get wife up Chelan Butte last time I was in the area.

Perfect style for a report on a sensitive area...people can ask nicely for info... I just hope others visiting that lake can take your report as a good example to let people figure it out on their own...

I'm still trying to figure out what zesty has to do with navigating, but that place is ultra beautiful.
