Caltopo just made their weekly high-res layer Pro only ($50 a year) I don't use it enough for it to be worth it but I was wondering if anyone has another favorite site (free) with a similar feature.

Not sure what you mean by "weekly hi-res layer". Are you referring to the JNX format maps one can download to an unlocked Garmin device?

Itís found under the base map layers. Itís satellite imagery that is updated weekly which I use for checking for snow cover.

I found the weekly hi-res useful as well. Not as hi-res as Google Earth or Bing, but good enough to figure out snow cover and new logging roads.

Caltopo gets their data from Sentinel-hub, so that is the site to use as fourteen410 said. The imagery is actually posted more than once a week, so it is more useful than caltopo since you can search for days that aren't cloudy. you can also use the cloud slider to find the last date that wasn't cloudy. ex: Here
