Visit the Louvre on your laptop at home

Went for a nice 8 mile hike yesterday with my wife and our two dogs. There was one other car on the parking lot when we started, and two when we returned 3+ hours later. Never saw another hiker, but did see a few mbikers whiz by at one point. Good outdoor seclusion within 35 minutes of our place in West Seattle.

Went to the grocery store this morning. Lots of meat, fruit, vegies, etc. Bread was available and no bread lines. The only thing missing was toilet paper. No idea why that is in short supply.

Same here. They even had a little bit of rice, flour and beans.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

The national parks are free to encourage social distancing. Media has promoted the idea of hiking to avoid other people. You can't blame folks, especially non hikers, for believing it.

Backlash building in the UK over urban flight to safer regions
Quote:
One social media user commented: 'If Londoners and Middle Englanders could kindly keep away from their second homes in Suffolk and Norfolk, that would be appreciated. 'Stop spreading the virus. You don't need to be here.' Another angry person wrote: 'Why is it always London? Plenty of rich Londoners now in their second homes, or holidaying in Wales Cornwall. Places with very little resources. Selfish lot.' Another added: 'Our village in the Cotswolds was full of Londoners escaping the city. 'In 10 years we have never seen it so busy. People coming to their second homes, bringing their friend.

Shouldn't have sold those Londoners those times if that didn't want them in them.

The government has told city dwellers to not break travel restrictions by going to their second homes, with coastal and rural communities becoming increasingly frustrated at being overrun by wealthy coronavirus refugees. Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government laid out that Britons should remain in their “primary residence”, and not travel to their “second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar”. The guidance explained: “Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.”

So much for having that bug out cabin in the woods. Hunting for your existence while society crumbles. Currently hunting on dnr land, fishing, foraging for food has been banned on some public lands. I know plenty of people, not all that wealthy, who have this idea. Current reality is that any moment, the king can claim all land and animals for the crown. King being reference to old school monarchy, and not any current politicians.

Don't plan on visiting the San Juans All transient accommodations, camping and mooring are closed. Saw some young turists out on a lark today obviously not distancing. Lots of "foreign" license plates. . .We don't have the infrastructure folks. medical or staples. Stay home.
