There is an old road that runs from the Hyak ski area up to the pass and meadows--it's also possible to get there more directly from the ski area. I've skied it many times, back before snowmobiles went up there.
Does anyone know how the snowmobiles get into the north bowl? The only route I could find on a map goes through the Snoqualmie Pass Nordic Center. Do they allow access in the spring when the resort closes?
Every year, snowmobiles follow the Summit Nordic center's trail up Cold Creek road 9070 once the Nordic Center stops grooming.
As a minimum there is a specific Hyak resident that goes up and high marks the bowl as soon as the Nordic Center closes.
It is kinda of annoying, but in a more typical year the window between the nordic center closing and the lower part of road 9070 melting out isn't usually very long.
