The Green Trails map shows about a 2/3km^2, including all of Surprise Lake as private land. It abuts the Clearwater Wilderness, but not MRNP. The Cayada Creek Road 7810 bisects the property. Last year the owners finally cabled off the old jeep road to the lake, but posted a sign saying non-motorized visitors were still welcome. I researched Pierce County tax site and the owner of record is a church in Federal Way. Their repair efforts to date are appreciated.

Surprise lake is such a picturesque little lake...although, the last time I was there it was pretty thrashed by vehicles of some sort.
