Have you ever encountered ants on old light ballasts?

It was weird like out of a sci-fi/horror movie. Tiny ("like those moisture ants") covering old light ballasts. Maybe the roof leaked and the moisture ran down the wires to the ballasts?

All the 'goodies in that old modular building aside from rattlesnakes. Ants, rats, spiders and needles... Glad we don't have poisonous snakes in corner of this state!

Off to work! Mask up, be safe!

weird. I can't think of anything that would attract ants. Old ballasts are full of some pretty obnoxious oil, and if they are old enough, PCB's

Throw them out if you still want fluorescents (donít know why) get electronic ones. Otherwise get LEDs, cheap at Costco.

The building was in various states of disrepair and hadn't had power for some time, years?

Even though the ballasts were old they were all intact and no PCB's. Being removed and taken to proper management facility with the light tubes.

I would have taken a picture but once the cover was removed they spread everywhere like in a horror movie! Gross!!!
